Lamborghini Claims Aventador SVJ has the Best Power-to-Weight Ratio

After testing the Aventador SVJ on the Nurburgring and on the streets for months, Lamborghini has finally started dropping teasers for their new hardcore supercar. The first teaser released three days ago showed the SVJ lapping the Nurburgring and we suspect that it may have broken the Porsche 911 GT2 RS’ current lap record.

Today, Lamborghini released more information about the supercar. It claims that the Aventador SVJ has the best power-to-weight ratio, which could be true since, the SVJ will be lighter and more powerful than the Aventador SV. It will utilise the 6.5-liter V12 to produce around 800 horsepower. The same engine churned out 739 hp and 507 lb-ft of torque in the SV.

The Aventador SV weighed 1525 kg, resulting in a power to weight ratio of 485 hp per tonne. It will be interesting to see how Lamborghini has managed to reduce the weight of the Aventador SV even further.

We expect more such teasers in the coming weeks as excitement builds up for the official unveiling next month at the Pebble Beach Concours.
