European Driving Roads: Ford GT at Atlantic Ocean Road, Norway

In another episode of ‘European Driving Roads’ series, Steven Sutcliffe drives the new Ford GT through one of the most beautiful roads in the world to reach a semi-anonymous race track to set a new lap record. The video which is a part of a series produced by Ford to showcase Europe’s best driving roads is one of the best ‘supercar on a scenic road’ video we have ever seen.

Driving through Norway’s Atlantic Ocean Road, Sutcliffe reaches the Arctic Circle Raceway, a racetrack we never heard of before. But, actually, the Arctic Circle Raceway is one of Norway’s largest circuits. Also, what makes the 2.3 mile circuit special is its remote location. It is the northernmost racetrack in the world and is only used occasionally for motorcycle racing.

But, it wasn’t Sutcliffe who went for the record attempt in the bright yellow Ford GT. For the record attempt, the keys were handed over to Stefan Mücke, one of Ford’s factory racing drivers (and winner of six FIA World Endurance Championship races)

As expected, The Ford GT broke the record. The 647 hp supercar did the lap in 1:36 minutes, full 5 second faster than the previous record holder.

Drool as the Ford GT showcases its cruising capabilities before breaking a lap record.
