A new set of 2018 Aston Martin Vantage spy shots reveal a DB11-inspired exterior design. Test mules of the upcoming sports car were spotted during winter testing.
With every passing month, the 2018 Vantage prototypes are dropping their camouflage. Thus, revealing the design language adopted by the British sports car maker.
The 2018 Vantage test mules looks very similar to the DB11. However, this being the smaller of the two is considerably shorter in length. Will other features like the ‘Aeroblade’ rear spoiler be available on the Vantage remains to be seen.
Moreover, the new Vantage will be slightly larger in proportions compared to the outgoing model. This means, there will be more room inside the cabin. Looking at the spy shots, it looks like the interior was also inspired by the DB11.
Big changes under the hood
The big change however comes under the hood. The new Aston Martin Vantage switches to AMG power for 2018. At its heart will be a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine with somewhere in the range of 400-450 hp. The front mounted engine will be mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission this time around. A manual gearbox will also be available.
We expect to see the new Vantage in production form later this year. It goes one sale in 2018.
